With the Scottish Family History Trail Package Your Scottish Descent, led by Robert Edwards BA (Hons), will carry out detailed research into your Scottish family history in anticipation of your arriving in Scotland where Celtic Trails, led by Jackie Queally, will take you on a personalised tour of the places where your ancestors once lived, worked, and died. With this package you will experience all of the exhilaration of connecting with your Scottish ancestors while also getting a chance to enjoy the sights of Scotland .

With our Scottish Family History Trail Package you will receive a report examining your Scottish ancestors. This report will provide you with details of the people, places, and events relevant to your family tree and it will provide you with the framework for your guided tour. This report will look at births, marriages, deaths, and census data to bring you an accurate picture of your Scottish ancestor’s lives. Led by Honours Graduate Robert Edwards, Your Scottish Descent will complete the first stage of the package by producing a professionally researched and neatly presented report that you and your family can cherish.

Celtic Trails will then really bring your Scottish family history to life with a tour of the key places mentioned in your report. Depending upon which package you choose you could for example visit some of the streets where your ancestors lived, the places where they worked, and perhaps you will even get to pay your respects at the cemetery where they are buried, and with Jackie Queally, an expert in her field, on hand to guide you through these places you are sure to have the trip of a lifetime.

You can choose to have your report presented to you upon arrival in Scotland where you and your family will experience all of the excitement and surprise of learning about your Scottish ancestors whilst standing where they once stood all at once. If you are adventurous and curious then we recommend this option. Alternatively, you can choose to have your Scottish family history report sent to you prior to your trip so that you can learn about your ancestry in advance. It’s entirely up to you.

You choose how much or how little you would like to see, normally tours will take you to one or two key regional locations where you will be taken to some of the key streets, buildings, and other places relevant to your family tree, or more, depending upon the distance between the places involved and what can be accommodated within the time available. However, if you wish, you can arrange a longer tour, giving you more time to be guided around the places you would like to see. It’s your holiday, so it’s up to you.

There are three options within this package:

1) Day Tour

Having chosen in advance the places that you will visit Jackie will take you on a tour of the key locations within the time available. You might be taken to the street where you grandmother was raised, you might see the place where your great grandfather is buried. We will discuss your preferences with you well in advance of your arrival in Scotland .

2) Weekend Break

With more time to get around you will be able to visit more of the key places mentioned in your family history report. Jackie will be on hand to guide you and give you an insight into the areas history.

3) Longer Breaks

If you’re interested in taking a longer trip to Scotland and you would like Jackie to take you on several tours then simply get in touch with us. It’s always best to get in touch well in advance of your trip so that we can plan your tours to perfection. As with all the other packages you will receive a full family history report, neatly presented and professionally researched.
